Camp Whittlewood is a short, single-player horror RPG from NickSchemes. You are a Bark Scout dropped off for a weekend at a former logging camp deep in a protected forest; before the outdoor fun starts, you get teased with an old story about a woodcarver who stalks the camp — and then the twisted campfire story starts coming true. Progression runs on key items you find around the campground, the camper crew has its own personalities and opinions of you, and the game ships with multiple unique endings.
The whole thing is deliberately compact: old-school RPG interaction mechanics, cozy pixel art with chilling cutscenes, an original soundtrack, and a Windows-only Steam release on 28 September 2026.
Before you buy / before you install
- Price: US$16.50 in the US store.
- Platform: Windows PC only — no Mac or Linux build.
- Demo: none. What you see on the store page is what launches.
- Specs: light. Windows 10, 11th-gen Core i3, 2 GB RAM, Intel Iris Xe, 1 GB disk — full table on the release date page.
- Language at launch: English with full audio; full controller support is listed.
What to do first
- Talk to every camper before you move the story on — the setup and the warnings arrive in dialog, and the game is short enough that skipped talk is missed story.
- Open your inventory whenever something new lands in it. Story progression is item-driven, so anything with a description is probably a key item.
- Keep a manual save before you follow anyone into the woods. Multiple endings plus branching means at least one point of no return.
